- 1 marzo

Posted: 10 Mar 2010 02:42 AM PST

- Western Academic Writing Workshop

Western Academic Writing: Getting Published in a Peer-Reviewed Journal workshop, conducted by the CRRC-Armenia Program Manager Jenny Paturyan, somewhat unexpectedly drew a large and engaged audience. The group of participants was fairly diverse: from inexperienced students to scholars with publication record. The general aim of the workshop was to provoke the participants into thinking about the western academic style, as it is reflected in written form. The participants received practical advice on writing structure and tone, useful tools, and sources of further information during the workshop. The participants had the opportunity to apply the new skills on the writing samples they had provided prior to the workshop. "I am glad to have a chance to participate in this workshop and hope that I will be able to better structure my master thesis with the skills I have gained." - said one of the participants. Would you like to do the best and hardest thing in your life? The CRRC-Azerbaijan office has announced the Junior Fellowship Program (JFP) which eventually will recruit five fellows for a paid apprenticeship. The JFP is designed to train young researchers to do high level social science research and policy analysis. The fellows will have the opportunity to work alongside CRRC researchers full-time, contributing to real research projects. They will receive trainings by international and local researchers on numerous topics such as regression analysis, statistical software packages, detecting data falsification, sampling, interviewing and survey design, facilitating focus groups, budget analysis and academic writing. The program is supported by the OSI Think Tank Fund in Budapest.

The basic design was developed and successfully implemented by the CRRC-Georgia office last year. This year, the four Georgian fellows that have been selected in a highly competitive and rigorous application process are Keti Chubinishvili (Sociology), Vazha Burduli (Law), Thea Goginashvili (Economics), and Elene Japaridze (Psychology).

CRRC is happy to have the new fellows on board and wishes a successful selection process to our team in Azerbaijan!

* Rai trasmissione Estovest (Italy)

* Rai trasmissione Levante (Italy)

Cosa accade in Turchia?

Dalla Romania all’Italia.
