L’opposizione socialista di Rama continua a boicottare il parlamento e richiede il riconteggio dei voti, invece il governo democratico di Berisha non cede e esercita pressione affinché i socialisti ritornino nella sede legislativa. Durante questi 6 mesi, il fattore internazionale ha spinto la politica albanese a sedersi attorno al tavolo e da circa due settimane, il Presidente della Repubblica albanese, Bamir Topi, sta mediando tra i due leader principali Berisha e Rama per trovare un accordo. AlbaniaNews ha intervistato in esclusiva, on. Luca Volontè, l’unico italiano parte della delegazione dell’AP del Consiglio d’Europa e Capogruppo dei popolari europei in questa istituzione, partito al quale aderiscono anche i democratici di Berisha.

March 4, 2010 a round table discussion Former Citizens of the USSR in Russia: Oblivion and Discrimination will take place at 12:00 in Andrey Sakharov Museum and Public Center in Moscow.

Citizens of the former USSR, who neither have been recognized citizens of Russia nor received any other legal status, are one of the most deprived of their rights group of people in modern Russia. Sometimes they are referred to as “migrants” or “foreigners”, but this is a separate question itself whether is it appropriate to call in such a way people who have been living in one and the same country and even region for more than 20 years. The problems of recording and documenting the Soviet people can be discussed by example of Krasnodar krai. On the one hand, the experience of this region is unique: for almost 18 years one ethnic group - Meskhetian Turks - were being discriminated. As if in the shadow of this group found themselves smaller communities – Yezidis, Kurds, Khemshils, who were treated by authorities and police almost in the same way as Meskhetian Turks. On the other hand, regional authorities have simply made their best at using the mechanisms, that are offered by the passport system.

 The Uprooted: Photo Exhibition

From March 1st through the 14th 2010, the photo exhibition by Yuri Ivashchenko, The Uprooted, will be taking place at the Museum and Public Center A.D Sakharov.

The photo-documentary exhibition expands upon two ethnicities presiding in southern Russia - the Yazidi and the Batum Kurds (Kurmanji).

The photographer examines how the Yazidi and Kurds are holding on to their identity and interacting with other ethnicities.

The photographer’s goal is not so much to surprise the viewers with the exotic realities of the lives of the Yazidi and Kurds, as to show from within what it means to be the other, a person from a different religion and culture appearing to onlookers as enigmas and incomprehensible.

On March 1st at 7:00 pm the opening of the exhibition will take place including a presentation of the photo book The Uprooted.

 Case of Farid Babayev’s Murder: Hearings Resume

On February 26, 2010, at 10 am in the Supreme Court of Dagestan after more than two months’ break the hearings of the case of Farid Babayev’s murder will resume.

Farid Babayev was the leader of Dagestn department of Yabloko party, public leader and human rights activist. He was shot on November 21, 2007, and died in a hospital three days later.

Nessuna guida vi porterà nel quartiere di Kopli, a Tallinn. La capitale dell’Estonia va fiera dei suoi palazzi storici e di quelli moderni, decisamente meno dell’eredità dell’edilizia sovietica. Estovest, la rubrica della Tgr prodotta dalla sede Rai per il Friuli Venenzia Giulia, in onda sabato alle 11.15 su Raitre, apre la puntata con un servizio di Lucio Giudiceandrea realizzato a Kopli, il rione più degradato di Tallinn: un migliaio di giovani, spesso abbandonati a se stessi, sono i soggetti più a rischio a causa di alcool e droghe. Di loro si prendono cura i volontari di un centro pastorale e gli assistenti di un centro rieducativo, ultima chance prima del carcere.

Gli ultimi dati dell’Europol confermano che i Balcani continuano ad essere un terreno fertile per le organizzazioni criminali che da lì sviluppano i propri traffici all’interno dei paesi dell’unione Europea.

L’inviato Mario Refrigeri spiega come la liberalizzazione del mercato, la caduta dei confini e la collocazione geografica dei paesi balcanici verso oriente hanno creato di fatto vere e proprie "rotte criminali". Le polizie dei paesi dell’est cercano di arginare tali fenomeni ma sono costrette troppo presto ad arrendersi.

In sommario quindi un servizio di Nada Cok che ripercorre la storia dei 9 valichi agricoli che, in provincia di Trieste, erano aperti soltanto ai propietari di terreni da entrambe le parti della frontiera italo - yugoslava. In uno di questi, nel 1981, 8 anni prima della caduta del muro di Berlino, un accordo tra le comunità locali consentì di togliere la sbarra confinaria per un giorno. Un gesto che da allora venne ripetuto annualmente fino all’abolizione dei confini, trasformando la strada più isolata della provincia nel sentiero dell’amicizia.

Chiude la puntata un servizio di Gian Paolo Girelli e Renato Orso sui 60 anni dell’Ebu, l’Ente Radiotelevisivo Europeo, che serve 125 media di 56 Paesi del continente. La vicepresidenza che ora è della Rai ha proposto un bouquet di oltre mezzo migliaio tra documentari, programmi per ragazzi e fiction da destinare ai servizi pubblici dei paesi europei svantaggiati. Il vicepresidente Ebu, Claudio Cappon, spiega anche la situazione in cui si trovano le televisioni pubbliche d’Europa.

LA CATTEDRALE CONTESA di Piero Pisarra. A Nizza, in Francia, c’è la più grande chiesa russa al di fuori della Russia e l’unica che abbia diritto al titolo di cattedrale. E’ stata costruita nel 1912 ed è dedicata a San Nicola di Bari. Da molti anni la chiesa è al centro di una contesa politica, religiosa e giudiziaria. Il 24 gennaio scorso il Tribunale di Nizza ha sentenziato che il terreno e la chiesa devono essere considerati di proprietà dello Stato russo. La battaglia legale continua.
